"What is the Point of BTD6?"

My short answer is that it's a good game from one of the most iconic & enduring tower defence franchises made by a company that cares for the playerbase. With some live service elements.

My expounded answer is that BTD 6 is a culmination of my experiences from the previous games since BTD 2, and the culmination of experiences Ninja Kiwi had with creating the franchise. Granted, I wasn't able to get BTD 6 from day 1.

What I've mean by "enduring franchise" is that while the 1st few games aren't perfect, they're simple and the next games build on top of the previous ones. Each game manages to be somewhat iconic within the context of its time. It pains me to make such comparisons, but sadly most people only praise Plants vs. Zombies' 1st game.

NK wasn't also perfect with the monetization. I remember people being disappointed with some of the premium options the franchise had before. But comparing those to various monetizations done by other games during that time and up to now, the BTD franchise's wasn't too bad.

As for the lore. Well, I'm sure NK probably retconned a few details before. But BTD is technically a "spin-off?" Before BTD, NK made games within the Bloons "super-genre" where you play as a monkey with the goal of popping bloons. The monkeys shot first if we're going with that.

But you know, the answers in this video are great as well!
